About Us
1. I typed in www.blankcd.co.nz and arrived at The Disc Shop, whats going on?
At the beginning of September 2011 we have changed our name from Blankcd.co.nz to The Disc Shop. This new name better reflects the products we sell. At the same time as changing our name we launched this new website.
Prices
1. How much will the shipping cost for my order?
Take a look at the Shipping Info page for approximate shipping prices. We have Free Shipping on all CD DVD BD Duplicators & all Ink Cartridges.
2. Do prices on this website include GST?
Yes all prices stated on thediscshop.co.nz include GST.
3. Are your prices up to date?
Yes all our prices are up to date and we honour any price on our website, even if we make a mistake!
4. I've found a cheaper price elsewhere, will you match or better it?
We will do our best to match it or better it, however we cannot guarantee it. We have been around for over 10 years now which proves our prices are very good but we also offer excellent service & support and we are the Blank disc specialists in New Zealand.
5. Do you charge extra when I pay by credit card?
No our prices are the same whether you pay by cash, bank deposit or credit card. We do not charge any extra fees for credit card payments.
6. Do you have regular specials, discounts or deals?
Yes we do, the best way to hear about these is to follow us on Facebook and Twitter, we regularly have special offers through our Facebook and Twitter pages. Its also a great way to contact us. Click on the icons in the top right corner.
7. Does thediscshop.co.nz sell wholesale as well?
Yes, we sell our range of DVD Cases at wholesale. If you currently buy these products for resale or want to stock our range of DVD Cases in your store please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a price list.
Products
1. You have so many different CD & DVD brands available, how do I know which brand is right for my Burner & computer?
Basically, it's a matter of trial and error. Ask your friends, ask us or try a few different brands and find the one that works best in your burner, computer or duplicator. Once you find that brand, stick with it! Click here for some extra info on media at Digitalfaq.com.
2. I bought a certain brand of discs from thediscshop.co.nz but they won't work for me, can I return them?
Yes absolutely, but please note there is no warranty with blank cds or dvds (unless we sent the wrong discs or they are damaged) so the cost to return the discs will be your responsibility.
3. I am interested in a certain product, can you send me a sample?
Yes we can send samples of most CDs, DVDs and Cases, send us an email with all the necessary details.
4. What is the best way to keep up to date with new products on thediscshop.co.nz?
The best way is to follow us on Facebook and Twitter, click on the icons in the top right corner and follow us. Its also a great way to contact us.
5. What is the difference between Taiyo Yuden OEM & Taiyo Yuden Mastergrade discs?
This is a common question. Mastergrade discs are just about as good as it gets, with PI error rates below 0.2. OEM grade discs are still very good, with PI error rates below 0.5. These error rates equate to 1-2 failures per 500 discs burnt. Of note, a typical brand disc would have a PI Error rate anywhere from 2.0-5.0.
Ordering
1. Do I have to create an account before I can make a purchase?
Yes you do have to create an account before placing an order. It will only take 1-2 mins.
2. I made a mistake with my order, how can I change it?
You can do this via your account or you can email us directly.
3. I just placed an order but I want to cancel it, can I?
Yes, but only if your order has not been sent already, you can cancel your order via your account or you can email us directly.
4. Can I order something and have it delivered to someone else?
Yes, you fill in a different delivery address when placing your order.
5. I live in Christchurch, can I pick up my order to save on the shipping?
Yes, however we do not have a retail store, so please arrange a day & time with us prior to all pick ups. We prefer to have pick ups Monday-Friday around 1pm or between 5-6pm but we are flexible. For pick ups, only cash is accepted for payment unless payment is made by bank deposit or credit card prior to picking up. Make sure you select "Pick up" when placing your order online.
6. How do I pay for goods?
You can pay by bank deposit or credit card when ordering online. Also, if you choose to pick up your order you can pay by cash at the time of pick up. Please select the appropriate payment option when placing your order.
7. I am interested in purchasing a product in large quantities, is this possible?
Absolutely, send us an email with details of the product you wish to purchase in bulk and we will see what sort of deal we can do for you.
8. Do you ship goods internationally?
Yes, but we do not handle the shipping. You will need to have your own freight forwarder and have the goods collected from us.
9. I want to buy a product from thediscshop.co.nz but it is out of stock, what do I do?
From time to time we run out of stock of certain products, you can keep an eye on the product by adding it to your cart and wait until it comes back into stock or you can send us an email and tell us what the product is and as soon as it comes back in stock we will email you and let you know.
Payment
1. When do you process credit card payments?
Credit card payments are processed at the time of your order.
2. What methods of payment do you allow?
You can pay by bank deposit, credit card or cash (picks ups only).
3. What credit cards do you accept?
We accept Visa and Mastercard.
4. Can I pay by EFTPOS?
No.

Delivery
1. When can I expect to receive my order?
Delivery generally takes 1-3 days from the time of payment.
2. What courier companies do you use?
We use a variety of couriers, the courier will depend on the size & weight of your order and also where in NZ you are located. The couriers we use are NZ Post, Courier Post & PBT Couriers.
3. Can I give specific delivery details, such as leave parcel on doorstep?
Yes absolutely, be sure to notify us of any specific delivery instructions in the comments section when you make your order.
4. Can I ask you use a certain courier company to deliver my order?
Yes but the shipping charge for your order may change.
5. Can you deliver to a PO Box?
Yes we can deliver to a PO Box.
6. Do you charge extra for delivery to a Rural (RD) address?
For larger items over 8kg there is an additional $5 Rural (RD) delivery fee. For orders under 8kg there is no Rural (RD) delivery fee.
